Effective 30 August 2026
Self Max collects nothing. There are no accounts, no servers and no analytics. The app contains no networking code of any kind, so there is nowhere for your information to be sent. Everything it records stays on your iPhone.
This policy explains what Self Max does and does not do with information on your device. It applies to the Self Max iPhone app and to this website. In this policy, Self Max, we and us mean Self Max LLC, the operator of the app, reachable at contact@selfmaxapp.com.
None. Self Max does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, photographs, contacts, health records or payment details, and it does not create an account for you. No information about you is transmitted from your device to us, and we operate no servers that could receive it.
Where this policy says "collect", it uses Apple's meaning: transmitting data off the device so that it can be accessed later. Self Max uses information on your device, but it never transmits any, and therefore collects none.
Self Max asks for location access so it can tell when you arrive at and leave your gym. This is the entire basis on which gym time is measured, and the app cannot work without it.
Self Max uses Apple's Family Controls, Managed Settings and Device Activity frameworks to block and unblock apps.
Everything Self Max records — your rules, your saved gym, your history — is written to a private storage area shared only between Self Max and its own two extensions. No other app can read it. It is protected by the iOS sandbox and by your device's encryption, which is tied to your passcode.
One thing worth knowing: because this information sits in ordinary app storage, it may be included in your own iCloud or computer backups of your iPhone, in the same way as data from any other app. Those backups are made by you, held under your Apple Account and governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. We have no access to them.
Self Max does not track you. It does not use the advertising identifier, does not build a profile of you, and does not follow you across other companies' apps or websites. It contains no advertising, no advertising networks and no marketing tools.
There are none. Self Max includes no third-party code that gathers information about you: no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting services, no attribution or A/B testing tools. Nothing about you is sold, rented, shared or disclosed to anyone, because we hold nothing about you to disclose.
We do not sell or share personal information, and we never have. Since we hold none, there is nothing to opt out of.
Self Max Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system. Apple handles the entire transaction. We never see or receive your name, card number, billing address or any other payment detail. What Apple reports back to the app is limited to whether a valid subscription currently exists. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, and the subscription itself by the Standard End User License Agreement.
If you have chosen in your iPhone settings to share analytics and crash data with app developers, Apple may make crash reports and aggregate usage statistics available to us through App Store Connect. This is arranged by Apple, not by anything in the app, and what we see is aggregated and cannot be traced back to you individually. You control it in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
Self Max sends no push notifications and holds no device token for them.
Because everything is stored on your device, you control all of it:
We keep no copy on any server, so there is no retention period on our side, nothing for you to request from us, and nothing for us to delete on your behalf.
Privacy laws including the GDPR in the UK and Europe, and the CCPA in California, give you rights to see, correct, export and delete personal information a company holds about you, and to object to its use.
We hold no personal information about you. Everything Self Max knows is already in your hands, on your device, where you can read, change or destroy it at any moment without asking us. There is no international transfer of your information, because none of it leaves your device. If you believe otherwise, write to contact@selfmaxapp.com and you will get an answer. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Self Max is not directed at children under 13, and we knowingly collect no information from anyone of any age. If Self Max is used alongside Apple's Screen Time parental controls, that arrangement is between you and Apple.
If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new effective date at the top, and any material change will also be noted in the app's release notes on the App Store. Continuing to use Self Max after a change means the revised policy applies.
Questions about this policy, or about Self Max generally, can be sent to contact@selfmaxapp.com.
